Marion Corron
Marion Corron was educated in Scotland, her home, and England, where she attended the Royal College of Music under the Junior Exhibition Scholarship program. Twenty grants are awarded annually in the greater London area
competitively to children age 11 or 12.
When she immigrated to the United States she received a Bachelor of Music cum laude with a piano performance major and a viola minor. She has studied with Barbara Boissard (London, England), Stefan Bardas, and Ozan Marsh.
She was pianist with the touring group The Clarion Trio, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and the Flagstaff Festival Orchestra.
She has concertized widely in the Southwest, and has been a professional accompanist with such groups as the Juilliard Quartet, and with Eudice Shapiro, Carol Brubaker (violinist), and Goldberg (flautist).
Brubaker and Corron received a Title III grant to tour for two seasons in Arizona and New Mexico.
As associate professor at Pima Community College Corron taught private and class piano. She has judged widely, and taught advanced students, producing many competition winners, college scholarship winners, and successful hobbyists.
Corron is currently teaching a limited number of students in the Boise area.
